DynamicNotch
Turns the MacBook notch into a live system dashboard — music, calendar, system stats and custom HUDs in the space that was doing nothing.
Overview
DynamicNotch makes the MacBook's notch useful. It expands and contracts around what's happening on screen, and turns the dead space into a dashboard for media, calendar, system stats and quick tools.
It draws its own custom notch, so it runs on any Mac on macOS 15 or later — a physical notch isn't required. Version numbers track the macOS release each build is tuned for.
Features
- Music playback with album art, controls and a real-time audio spectrogram
- Calendar and Reminders, with upcoming events in the notch
- Fan, thermal and CPU monitoring, with a custom fan curve editor
- Replacement HUDs for volume, brightness and keyboard backlight
- File shelf with AirDrop, download tracking, webcam mirror and Caffeine
- Extensions: describe a small automation in plain English and it runs every time
- AI usage tracking for Claude and ChatGPT, with limit alerts
- Optional Liquid Glass background on macOS 26 and later
